Marie Fisher Interior Design is a San Francisco-based design studio with a reputation for creating award-winning, concept-driven spaces for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. We are a studio that values the collective mind, believing that authenticity and innovation come from the collaboration with our clients, members of the community, and our design partners. Our mission is to create interiors that are innovative as well as thoughtful, that are strongly forward-looking but include the ideals of the past. We feel that what is most important in creating interiors is that the authenticity of place is enhanced. The design must meet our client’s aesthetic, functional, and economic goals while honoring and celebrating the environments in which they are placed. We guide our clients through the design process, realizing our collective vision together.

MARIE FISHER
Marie Fisher is the founder and principal of Marie Fisher Interior Design. Since the beginning of her career, she has approached design with passion, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the past, drawing on timeless influences to shape forward-thinking spaces.
She leads her team with a spirit of creativity and innovation, encouraging fresh ideas and thoughtful exploration in every project. For Marie, each design opportunity is a chance to challenge convention and craft purposeful, elevated solutions tailored to her clients’ needs and vision.
A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, Marie earned her MS in Environmental Design, which continues to inspire her commitment to creating spaces that balance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
Marie finds inspiration in nature through hiking the scenic trails of Marin. She also treasures spending quality time with her family, whether gathered around the dinner table or exploring new places together.
MADELINE TRAIT
Madeline has been a key member of the Marie Fisher Interior Design team since 2002. Over the years, she has played an integral role in the success of our firm as well as projects, serving as both Lead Designer and Project Manager.
She brings thoughtful insight and a strong creative perspective to every phase of the design process. Her commitment to innovation is matched by her exceptional organization and communication skills, ensuring that each project runs smoothly and meets the highest standards of quality and collaboration.
Prior to Marie Fisher Interior Design, she worked at Nicole Hollis, Field Paoli Architects, and Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Design Associates. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
MONICA ORTIZ
Monica joined Marie Fisher Interior Design in 2022 and plays a key role on our team as both a Designer and Project Manager. Her diverse skill set, including advanced computer rendering, helps bring bold ideas to life and clearly communicates design intent throughout the process. In addition to her technical expertise, Monica brings a fresh perspective and creative energy to every project.
Before joining our team, Monica worked as a Design Architect at Algol Proyectos, where she specialized in luxury residential interiors, including custom furniture and millwork. She also contributed to high-end housing projects at Gaia Studio. Originally from Mexico, Monica holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
